Targeted financial assistance aimed at building recovery capital

Funding Sports, Education and innovation

Each Phoenix Futures Professional Head of House, holds and administers a “House kitty” fund financed by Phoenix Association. Individual residents can apply for a grant from this fund to take part in sports, education or to finance innovation leading to employment.

Supporting resettlement in our community

Community Members moving on into their own accommodation after completing the therapeutic programme can apply for a £50 resettlement grant. This can be used for setting up with household items such as small electrical appliances, crockery, cutlery etc.

Enabling the giving and receiving of gifts

At Christmas, via the House kitty, we donate a grant of £10 per resident for up to 100 people in the Sheffield houses. This enables people to give and receive gifts, sometimes for the first time.

Supporting Phoenix Futures to deliver a broad range of Therapeutic projects

We support Phoenix Futures to deliver a broad range of psychosocial interventions through funding therapeutic projects that allow Community Members to benefit from a holistic approach to recovery.

The projects that we have helped to fund range from art therapy, singing, to conservation and horticulture and many in between.

“Thank you for making this possible, the whole community are involved and it will really help our recovery.”

“This is an experience that I never would have had if it wasn’t for the Phoenix Association, it’s made me want to do so much more with my life”

Celebration and Team building events
We finance events and trips that are often a first time and /or a once in a lifetime experience for many of the people that we support. Sometimes, these events are a first-time opportunity for people to see outside of the city they were born in.

Enabling new experiences expands horizons, boosts confidence and self-esteem and is proven to increase retention rates in treatment. Some examples of activities we have funded in the past include trips to the seaside, camping trips, outdoor activity weekends and help towards the cost of the Voyage of Recovery.
